Sunday Club

Children and Young People in Church

Children are welcome in church every Sunday. The second Sunday of every month is a Family Service which is tailored to the younger members of our congregation. On all other Sundays in the month, we provide a suitable, soft play area at the front (by the Baptismal Font) for use during services. This comes complete with books and toys to keep the little ones occupied whilst you both supervise them, and participate in the service. The floor is covered with sponge mats for their comfort; whilst chairs are available for yours.

Meanwhile, older children are welcome into our Sunday Club towards the beginning of our service each week. This takes place in the meeting room at the back of church where they will be looked after by our team of leaders. Their time spent together consists of Bible-based stories, games and practical activities. The children are then welcomed back into church just before the congregation shares in the peace (about two-thirds of the way through the service). This means that Sunday Club lasts for around 40-45 minutes.

We cannot always expect babies and toddlers to be quiet and some noise is acceptable - even enjoyable. However, if your child is either very upset or noisy, then there is a meeting room at the back of church where you will be able to take him/her before rejoining the service.

We enjoy having children in church and try our very best to make them feel both welcome and loved. They are a very important part of our church family.
